Scribbles Abroad

Mccallum Surfboards have been down for the cause since the beginning.  After my first ride at PB Pier back in ’67 on his quad pills I was hooked.  Been hooking other people since.  We ride his pills as twinnies now and 1 is always a staple in our quiver.  All his boards are made by hand.  Jeff’s an honest man that has mastered his craft.  Custom shaped in San Diego.  Give him a ring ((858) 405-7856) and pick up a board.

The team at Firewire Surfboards has helped us since day one.  First it was Kaipo in Hawaii, then Brion in San Diego, and most recently Nikki and actually Nev the creator in Currumbin Australia.  Their customer service has been superb and the boards are true gems.  We ride them because:

1. They are great for traveling because they are harder to ding.
2. They feel better in the water.
3. They are lighter.
4. I’m a sucker for new technologies

Chris Masculino at Quiksilver hooked it up fat with a box in Hawaii and a trip through the Quiksilver Campus in Orange County that turned into a Christmas in June.  We even got extra gear to give those less fortunate than us that we meet on the road.  You can read more about Chris and our adventures in our Phillipines blog during our Cloud 9 stay and our California trip where we got to meet up again.  The gear we have so far has been great.  I’m trying out the diamond dobby shorts, the 4 way stretch shorts, and the silky new Eddie Aikau shorts.  All of them so far are unreal and I’m super stoked on um.  No rash li’dat.

Roby Adams over at Hurley dips into his sample piles and hooks us up with boardshorts, tshirts, and stickers every once and a while.  I have been wearing the same 3 Hurley shorts for 8 months.  My only other option is jeans and its by choice.  I’m extremely stoked on the super stretch ones he hooked me up with.  No rash and no getting caught on the knees when standing up.
